Inhalt

This article examines the longitudinal relationship between study-related skills (application of learning strategies, cooperation, coping with stress, and little procrastination) and student commitment (performance orientation and affective involvement). The sample consists of 171 student teachers who were surveyed twice within a time distance of at least 2 years during their bachelor’s degree. The results provide empirical evidence for the importance of study-relevant skills. Repetition based learning strategies had a positive effect, whereas procrastination had a negative effect on later performance orientation. Coping successfully with stress, on the other hand, had a positive effect on later affective involvement and beyond that a positive effect on later learning strategies.
